Letters: Speeding to the wrong conclusion?

RE THE OCT. 21 letter from Babatunde Ajayi saying he was pulled over in Willow Grove because he's black when the three other white speeders were let go:

Why would he look to see the race of the other drivers before he even got pulled over?

And once the flashing lights showed up in his mirror, I doubt he had the composure to calmly look at the color of the other drivers. And who keeps track of the speed of the drivers behind them in the mirror?

If multiple people commit the same offense, the cop can only go after one. If he gets lucky, he might get two. He has to decide how he'll pick. If they're running red lights, then the rear one might be the easy pick. If you're timing speeders, then the first one gets timed as he approaches the cop, but the cop can't reset everything in time for the next one, so only the first one gets timed.

In this state, local police aren't allowed to use radar, so they have to use devices that measure time over a certain distance. The first car in line gets it.

Eagles syndrome

Funny, the dust had barely settled on the Phillies' loss Saturday, and Monday's DN is full of Eagles news. You guys don't wait long for the corpse to get cold before you bury someone.

Well, Eagles, you can have your limelight back - too bad even for a moment the Eagles were jealous of the Phils. The Eagles didn't bother congratulating the Phils at any of their games while they played. Same thing happened with the Flyers last year. The big story right after the Flyers lost their last playoff game was the Eagles.
