RECENTLY a letter written by Mr. Todd Cohen criticized a previous letter writer who recommended higher taxes for the rich and elite of our population and lower tax rates for middle and lower income levels of our population.

The writer was correct in stating that the Bush administration's lower tax rates for the rich would be a financial imposition upon the median and struggling segments of our population.

We all have to become more realistic of the needs concerning all our citizens.

With national unemployment about ten percent and 48 percent of our citizens without medical insurance, those who can should assume the larger share of our country's financial burden.
