Letters: It's men's turn to wear girdles

OK, ELMER, why should we women be the only ones who have to suck it up, hold it in or wear draconian underwear to look slim?

Welcome, my wonderful friend, to the world of appearing slimmer for just $19.99.

The thing about it is, at some point you are going to have to disrobe.

So, by the time you order that truss, wait for it to come and feel like a squeezed sausage all day, you might as well lose the gut the hard way.

Exercise, have smaller portions, and eat less and maybe no junk food.

See, this has been my mantra for the past 30 years or so.

It ain't easy, but I have been able to maintain my frame and continue to wear my size 8 clothing.

And my guess is that I am probably older than you, my friend.

Lest we forget, it ain't easy, but it works, and that is all that matters.
