Letters: There are some strange belief systems out there

RELYING ON your beliefs is just fine sometimes - except when those beliefs conflict with reality. Many times recently Andy Reid stated that Michael Vick is a good person. He believes that to be so, though there is plenty of real-world evidence proving otherwise.

Many times recently Andy Reid stated that Michael Vick is a good person. He believes that to be so, though there is plenty of real-world evidence proving otherwise.

Charley Manuel believes that Brad Lidge is this close to being what he was two years ago and will remain the Phillies closer - though mounting evidence would appear to indicate that Charley is residing in lala-land.

Quite a number of us believe that Barack Obama is not a U.S. citizen and ineligible for the presidency despite the fact that he was born to a U.S. citizen, there was an announcement of birth in a local newspaper in Hawaii and the issuance of a copy of a certificate of live birth by the governing authority in Hawaii.

Andy and Charley have their beliefs, but I'm quite skeptical because of the evidence. But for poor Mr. Obama, a sizable portion of America has received the lie of foreign citizenship and no matter the evidence their belief system will not allow them to come to grips with reality.

Some psychologist could probably explain how this is possible.

Me? I'm amused.
