Letters: On Shannon Bellamy's affair with the pastor of Sharon Baptist Church: 'It takes two to tango'

RE SHANNON Bellamy's story of the unfortunate events between her and her pastor, I'd like to say: "It takes two to tango."

RE SHANNON Bellamy's story of the unfortunate events between her and her pastor, I'd like to say: "It takes two to tango."

It's a sad day when you have a pastor whom you come to for spiritual guidance who lets you down. He deserves whatever God has in store for him.

But just as there is a punishment for him, let us not forget that this so-called victim has a punishment of her own to deal with. Sin is sin.

It doesn't matter if we're a pastor or a member of the congregation. If you knew enough to advertise the wrong that was done, you also knew that when doing it, it was wrong.

I find it hard to believe that you were not in your right mind while you were sinning, and you now finally see the light.

My advice to you is to check your spirit. Vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord. Whatever is due this pastor, he will get it, just as whatever is due you, for your part in this, God also has something for you.

Man up, guys, on 'gay panic'

Give me a break with this "gay panic" defense.

If a woman were allowed to kill a man simply for unwanted sexual attention, the homicide rate in Philadelphia would be astronomical. We have to fend off advances regularly.

Man up, guys, and learn to say, "Thanks, but no thanks" without flipping out - or learn to run around your desk like women had to do for years when the boss got a little grabby. If it goes further than that, leave or call a cop.

Imagine walking a mile in our shoes, especially past a construction site or a bunch of guys on the corner.

When we get hit on and react, we get called the "b-word." When you get hit on, you claim it was such a terrible ordeal you went temporarily insane.

And you're supposed to be the strong ones.

Good result on Boy Scouts

Liberals may have dodged a bullet with the Supreme Court deciding in favor of the Boy Scouts, and the recent Philadelphia jury using that decision in their ruling.

Had the decision been the reverse, as favored by liberal opinion, wouldn't the NAACP be forced to accept KKK members, or B'nai B'rith, American Nazi Party members (represented by - who else? - but the ACLU)?

McChrystal clear

As an Army vet, here's my assessment of the McChrystal affair:

First off, the general wasn't fired. He offered his resignation, and the president accepted it. He'll get full benefits, with pension.

He finally got a day off to celebrate with his wife in Paris with his aides and the Rolling Stone writer. Unfortunately, he let his guard down.

The troops are disgruntled with the rules of engagement. McChrystal was following orders and trying to spare civilians. I hope Petraeus is allowed full rein with the military in Afghanistan.

A laugh riot

I guess it was Tea Party members who caused the riots in Toronto.

Those darn conservatives!
