Letters: A nightmarish version of health-care reform

THE HEALTH-care bill is a disaster. I believe it will be the death of the Democratic Party. It will effectively make private insurance unattainable by the middle class and convert our health-care delivery system into something akin to the motor vehicles department.

There is a way to insure those truly in need - a state-backed catastrophic insurance fund.

If this passes, it will also be payday for trial lawyers. A gift to the tort bar and special interest groups - again. The bill is also unconstitutional, as the federal government cannot force anyone to buy anything. But this group doesn't worry about the constitution they swore to protect and defend. We have a functioning oligarchy in this country, and I'm worried for my family.
