The president told us he would do this. As he stood on the smoking pile of rubble in New York, he announced to the crowd, "I hear you, and soon, the world will hear all of us." They did hear us. Thanks go to Bush, our brave troops, the brave citizens who stood strong and, especially, the passengers of Flight 93, whose courage can only be called superhuman.
Thanks to all of you, but especially Bush, who stood unwavering and steadfast in the face of eight years of attacks by his enemies, both at home and overseas.
"I am as constant as the Northern Star," were the words of Julius Caesar to Brutus before his enemies' daggers brought about his tragic demise. Bush also endured many daggers over eight years from his enemies, but try as they did, they could not bring down that Caesar.
So for all the liberals and 9/11 conspiracy theorists and other cowards who tried to blame America and Bush for that attack, I have a thought: Freedom has a price, and blaming Bush and former Vice President Cheney won't not spare you from the terrorists' wrath.
After all, it's always easier to kill a sheep than a lion.

Kudos for Coop
Congratulations to the U.S. Postal Service for finally issuing a stamp to honor one of Hollywood's finest - actor Gary Cooper (1901-1961), who received one of his two Oscars for his role in "High Noon" (1952), one of the all-time great Westerns. The priest who visited him during the last months of his life described the quiet courage and dignity that he showed as he prepared for his own last roundup.
