RE STUART Caesar's recent letter: Mr. Caesar must be unaware of the employment landscape. Health care is hardly a guarantee for most jobs, and even if people have the option, many are forced to make the choice between feeding themselves and paying for their share of health care.

Mr. Caesar must be unaware of the employment landscape. Health care is hardly a guarantee for most jobs, and even if people have the option, many are forced to make the choice between feeding themselves and paying for their share of health care.
It disappoints me that Mr. Caesar uses the tired line that our country was founded on less government involvement. Our country was founded by wealthy people who did not want to spend money on British goods.
Now that most companies hold all the cards in the employment marketplace, it's cheaper to drop health care.
If Mr. Caesar doesn't believe that a free country and one with universal health care can be one and the same, maybe he should take a look at most of western Europe and Canada. It shames me that I live in a country where ego and misguided principle trumps common sense.
