Randy Moore | Sportswriter, 63

Randy Moore, 63, a sportswriter who had covered the University of Tennessee for four decades, has died.

Darren Reese, sports editor of The Greeneville Sun, said Moore suffered a heart attack in the newspaper's office Friday after covering a high school football game. He died Saturday at Takoma Regional Hospital

Moore worked at the Knoxville Journal from 1974 to 1991 and had written about the Volunteers for a variety of other outlets. He most recently was working as editor-in-chief at InsideTennessee of the Scout network.

Tennessee football coach Butch Jones opened his post-practice news conference Saturday by saying "our thoughts and prayers are with Randy Moore and his family." - AP
