Services for crash victim

FUNERAL SERVICES will be held tomorrow for Shanta Jackson, 42, who was killed last Tuesday when the SUV she was driving crashed through a retaining wall and plunged into the Schuylkill.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. at Temple of Praise Baptist Church, 1905 Cecil B. Moore Ave. Friends may call at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Chelten Hills Cemetery.

Police said the 2005 Volvo SUV Jackson was driving smashed through a retaining wall on Hunting Park Avenue near Kelly Drive and went into the river. Members of the Police Marine Unit and firefighters recovered the vehicle and pulled Jackson out of it. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Accident investigation officers were trying to find out what caused the accident.
