Norman J. Pastore, 81, of Glenolden, a retired sales manager, died of circulatory disease Thursday at home.

Norman J. Pastore, 81, of Glenolden, a retired sales manager, died of circulatory disease Thursday at home.

Mr. Pastore graduated from Northeast Catholic High School in Philadelphia. During the Korean War, he was a radio operator in the Army in West Germany.

After his discharge he worked for the Reading Railroad in Philadelphia and earned a bachelor's degree from La Salle College at night.

In 1958, he joined the Philadelphia sales office of the Southern Pacific Railroad. He retired in 1988 as a national accounts manager for the company.

Mr. Pastore and his wife, Mary Lou Daly Pastore, met at the Jersey Shore and married in 1959. While helping raise their four children, he coached baseball for the Glenolden Boys Club and was active with the Home and School Association and with the Catholic Youth Organization at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Secane.

Mr. Pastore was also an usher, a lector, and a member of the finance committee, parish council, and Knights of Columbus at the church and attended daily Mass.

He enjoyed playing golf with his two sons and with friends, his son Steve said. "He learned the game with me when he was in his 40s and I was 12," his son said.

Mr. Pastore loved gatherings with his children and grandchildren, his son said.

In addition to his wife and son, Mr. Pastore is survived by another son, Chris; daughters Mary Lou Wagner and Tina Yaros; and 12 grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. tomorrow at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Dr., where a Funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Marple Township.
