Mrs. Garritt graduated from Upper Dublin High School, where she met her future husband, Douglas Garritt. She graduated from the Chestnut Hill Hospital School of Radiological Technology and then joined the hospital staff as a radiology technologist. For more than 20 years, she had been a mammography technician in the hospital's Women's Health Center, which provides health screenings, diagnostic and clinical services, and support groups for women.
Mrs. Garritt received the hospital's Malenckrodt Award for Outstanding Performance.
After her husband died in 1997, she dedicated her life to her son, Douglas, and daughter, Nora, who were then 13 and 10.
She was very close to her six siblings, loved keeping up to date with her 29 nieces and nephews, and enjoyed spending time with her family at the Jersey Shore and on vacations.
In addition to her children, Mrs. Garritt is survived by her parents, Warren and Mary Killoran; three brothers; and three sisters.
A Funeral Mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. today at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 1500 Marian Rd. Abington. Friends may call from 9 a.m. Burial will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville.
Memorial donations may be made to the Catherine Garritt Children's Educational Trust Fund, Liberty Bank, 1 W. Lancaster Ave., Paoli.
