Joseph Berchick | Machinist, 84

Joseph Berchick, 84, a machinist, died of myocardial infarction Tuesday at Nazareth Hospital. He lived in the Somerton section of the city.

A 1941 graduate of Northeast High School, he studied drafting at the Drexel Institute of Technology.

Mr. Berchick worked for three firms making parts for trains, niece Jacqueline Terrizzi-Meyers said.

From 1945 to 1980, she said, he worked for H.W. Butterworth & Sons, from 1980 to 1985 for the Budd Co., and from 1985 to 1989 for Lonergan Inc.

Mr. Berchick was an Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Grace; a son, Michael; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. tomorrow at St. Christopher Roman Catholic Church, 13301 Proctor Rd., where a Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
