Mr. Lokay, whose parents were Polish immigrants, grew up with 10 siblings on a farm in Bedminster. He graduated from Sell-Perk High School and from Bok Technical Institute in Philadelphia.
During World War II, he served in the Army in Europe. He spoke Polish, and at the end of the war was assigned to help transport Polish POWs home.
After his discharge, he and his brother, Alex, established Lokay Excavating Co. in Perkasie. From the mid-1990s, when he retired, until five years ago, Mr. Lokay assisted his wife, Katherine "Dolly" Geisel Lokay, with her family's business, the Elephant Store & Restaurant in Bedminster.
They often entertained guests with their music, their son Kevin said. Mr. Lokay played the harmonica, accordion and percussion bones, and his wife played the guitar.
Mr. Lokay enjoyed hunting, fishing, and crabbing with his sons, and feeding and watching the birds at his Bedminster farm.
In addition to his wife of 52 years and son, he is survived by son Craig and two sisters.
