Anthony M. Pinizzotto | Engineering manager, 79

Anthony M. Pinizzotto, 79, of Newtown Square, a retired engineering manager, died of complications from Alzheimer's disease Thursday at Haverford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Pinizzotto was a manager for the engineering firm of Parsons-Brinckerhoff for 11 years. His projects there included the eight-lane Fort McHenry Tunnel under Baltimore Harbor, completed in 1985.

After retiring in 1990, he was business manager for Kruza Legal search, a recruiting firm he and his wife, Margaret Kruza Pinizzotto, established in 1980.

Mr. Pinizzotto graduated from South Philadelphia High School. He served in the Army in the Pacific at the end of World War II.

After his discharge, he earned bachelor's degrees in civil engineering and in industrial management from Georgia Institute of Technology and earned a master's degree in engineering management from Drexel University.

In addition to his wife of 25 years, Mr. Pinizzotto is survived by sons Mariano "Marty," and Daniel; daughters Marygrace Brignola, Rosanne Penn, and Joy; stepchildren Karen Quinn and Thomas and Steven Kruza; four grandchildren; and his former wife, Dorothy Pinizzotto.

A Funeral Mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Katharine of Siena Church, Lancaster and Aberdeen Avenues, Wayne. Friends may call at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Marple Township.
