Spate of crashes reported as snow dusts suburbs

A dusting of snow is being blamed for a spate of motor vehicle accidents in Philadelphia's northern and western suburbs this morning.

A dusting of snow is being blamed for a spate of motor vehicle accidents in Philadelphia's northern and western suburbs this morning.

At least 15 accidents were reported on the Pennsylvania Turnpike: seven between Downingtown and Morgantown in Berks County, six near Quakertown on the Northeast Extension and two near Lansdale, also on the extension.

Other accident sites included Route 322 in Caln Township and Route 73 in New Hanover Township

No reports yet of any serious injuries.

There has been no accumulation but the light snow cover made untreated roadways slippery.

The mercury will rise into the 40s today and rain showers are forecast for this afternoon. Tonight, a cold front arrives and temperatures will linger in the 20s for the next two days.
