Forecasters say to expect the high temperature Tuesday to reach the high 80s in Philadelphia. There is a slight chance of rain showers, particularly in the afternoon or evening.
Along the Shore, temperatures in the 70s are expected for the Fourth, also with a slight chance of showers. Places south of Philadelphia have higher chances of rain, according to the National Weather Service.
“Expect most of the showers and storms to dissipate shortly after sunset with the loss of daytime heating,” a weather service forecast discussion said.
For those heading to New Jersey beaches, ocean temperatures were about 60 degrees Monday.
Places further south in the Mid-Atlantic, as well as throughout the South and Midwest, face the risk of heavy rain and thunderstorms disrupting Fourth of July festivities, according to AccuWeather.
