The company name and logo went up Tuesday at the future headquarters of Subaru of America in Camden. The sign was installed by the Philadelphia Sign Co., of Palmyra, to the top of the five-story building just off Admiral Wilson Boulevard.

Subaru will relocate to Camden from its current home in Cherry Hill in mid-spring 2018, said Michael McHale, director of corporate communications from the American subsidiary of the Japanese automaker.

"Everything's looking good," McHale said about the project, which will bring together four offices and 500 existing jobs into the complex.

The project had reportedly been expected to be completed by the end of this year, but McHale said it was "right on schedule."

Subaru announced its relocation in 2014 after it was awarded $118 million in state tax credits, which are spread over 10 years and conditional on the company creating at least 100 jobs and staying in Camden for 15 years.

The new headquarters will be 250,000 square feet with an additional 83,000-square-foot training facility.

On Feb. 15, the company will celebrate its 50th anniversary in the region, McHale said.

In 1968, Subaru arrived first in Bryn Mawr, then moved the following year to Pennsauken, then to Cherry Hill in 1986.
