We'd like to show the public how the ability to see drivers (and their race) changes at day vs at night. This is part of the "veil of darkness" test that some police departments perform to ensure they are not profiling drivers. This test examines whether the race of drivers whom police pull over changes at day vs at night, with the assumption being that it's harder to see drivers' faces at night. We have selected 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., because this period encompasses both day and night. We'd like several shots, including: A view, from the perspective of the police cruiser, of drivers traveling down a specific route (Route 70, for example). This picture should be taken from the same spot, during: Daylight, sunset/early evening, and night. Please keep in mind you'll want to shoot toward the front of cars, not the rear, since this story involves whether officers can see a driver's face/race.
