An elementary school wrestling coach from Shippensburg was among the dozens of people killed in Sunday’s shooting in Las Vegas, according to police.
“It is with the most of broken hearts, the families of Bill Wolfe Jr. and his wife Robyn share that Bill has been confirmed to be among the deceased as a result of the mass attack in Las Vegas,” the Shippensburg Police Department wrote in a Facebook post Tuesday morning. “Please continue to hold our entire family as well as those affected across the nation in your unending prayers.”
A post Monday from the Shippensburg wrestling team said Robyn was not harmed in the shooting, which left at least 59 people dead and more than 500 wounded.
Shippensburg is a small borough in Cumberland and Franklin Counties.
Officer Tom Young of the Shippensburg Police Department Monday called the community a “small town” where “a lot of the families are connected.” He said he knew Wolfe, whom he described as “a very well-liked, quiet person.”
