Voting wards to be changed
RADNOR Radnor Township is working on redistricting its voting wards.
Redistricting is required every 10 years under the township's charter, said Elaine Schaefer, the Board of Commissioners president. But voting wards had not changed in at least 14 years.
So the township hired Amanda Holt, the Lehigh County woman who successfully argued against a 2012 state redistricting plan by presenting her own map to the state Supreme Court.
Schaefer said Holt developed a mathematically based map for Radnor, which was then reviewed by a township committee.
There are changes to boundaries in each of the township's seven wards under the proposed redistricting plan. Residents are invited to review the proposal this summer, Schaefer said, and a hearing will be set in September.
Drafts of the proposed map are available at radnor.com. - Laura McCrystal
