will run for House seat

TREDYFFRIN TWP. A businesswoman and West Chester University trustee has announced she will run for a state House seat representing parts of Chester and Montgomery Counties.

Democrat Marian Moskowitz, a 30-year resident of Tredyffrin Township, said she wanted to help create jobs, regain education funding, and support women in business. State Rep. Warren Kampf, a Republican, will run for a third term representing the 157th Legislative District, which includes Tredyffrin and Schuylkill Townships and Phoenixville Borough in Chester County.

Moskowitz has owned several small businesses and is on the board of directors of the Chester County Economic Development Council.

"I've never been in politics before, but I think maybe that is what is needed in Harrisburg right now," she said.

Moskowitz is running against Jed Grobstein of Paoli, a former New York teacher, for the Democratic nomination. Grobstein announced this month his intention to run.
