A.J. Delgado and Jason Miller, two former Trump staffers who worked during and after the 2016 presidential campaign, are now parents of a 1-month-old baby boy named William.

However, Miller is married with two daughters, one of whom was born just months ago, after Miller had what Delgado said was an affair on the campaign trail.

Delgado, an attorney who served as President Trump's transition adviser, broke a six-month silence on Twitter on Tuesday to announce William's birth. Delgado says Miller, who served as chief spokesman for Trump's transition team and is a CNN contributor, dated her for two months during the campaign. She claims Miller told her he was separated from his wife during their romantic relationship.

On Wednesday, Miller confirmed to the New York Post's Page Six that William was his son, and issued a statement that appeared to indicate his wife had accepted the news.

"My wife and I, along with our two daughters, are excited to welcome William into the world and into our family, and we appreciate the well wishes we've received from so many," Miller said.

Miller's wife gave birth to their second child in January, meaning she was pregnant during Miller's affair with Delgado. Miller hinted at the stress of his home life in a statement explaining why he turned down the job as Trump's White House communications director two days after being tapped for the post.

"It's clear they [his family] need to be my top priority right now, and this is not the time to start a new job as demanding as White House communications director," Miller wrote.

There had been hints that Miller was the father of Delgado's child. In December, the same day Miller was named Trump's director of communications, the then-pregnant Delgado took to Twitter and compared him to former vice presidential nominee John Edwards, who famously fathered a child in 2008 in a extramarital affair with mistress Rielle Hunter.

"Congratulations to the baby-daddy on being named WH Comms Director!" Delgado wrote in a tweet she ultimately deleted, leading Miller to announce he'd turned down Trump's offer, citing his family.

Not surprisingly, Miller's statement about welcoming William's birth didn't go over well with Delgado, who took to Twitter to call out Miller for claiming he and his family were happy about his birth.

Delgado also claimed that Miller has yet to contribute any money to his new son or purchase him a single gift.

Neither Delgado nor Miller immediately responded to a requests for comment.

Delgado also hinted that there were more details to the story, noting on Twitter late Wednesday she offered her side to McKay Coppins, a staff writer at the Atlantic.
