Q poll suggests Pa. is in play

POSTED: Tuesday, October 16, 2012, 11:08 AM

OK, this is getting close.

President Obama now leads 50 percent to 46 percent in Pennsylvania as Republican Mitt Romney has narrowed a 12-point gap since September, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll of likely voters released Tuesday.

Obama was up 54 to 42 percent in the state in the universities independent poll Sept. 26. The change comes even though neither campaign nor allied groups have advertised much on Pennsylvania broadcast TV, with no ads aired since late August.

Quinnipiac’s result tracks with the Muhlenberg College/Morning Call survey released Monday, which had Obama leading Romney 49 percent to 45 percent among likely voters in Pennsylvania.

White Catholic voters favor Romney 56 percent to 43 percent, the Republican’s strongest demographic support in the Quinnipiac Poll.

It finds that men back Romney 54 – 43 percent, while women favor Obama 57 – 39 percent, little changed from last month.  White voters back Romney 53 – 43 percent, while black voters back Obama 97 – 1 percent.  The president leads among voters with college degrees, 54 – 43 percent, while voters without degrees are divided: with 49 percent for Obama and 47 percent for Romney.

Only 7 percent of Pennsylvania likely voters say they might change their mind.

Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,519 Pennsylvania likely voters, with live interviewers calling both land lines and cell phones, from Oct. 12 through Oct. 14. Results are subject to a margin of error of +/- 2.5 percent.

It would be 98 to 0 except for the 50% black unemployment in the inner cities as Reverend Jackson said yesterday.

The silent majority will speak on November 6. Romney in a landslide.
If Obama was such a sure thing why do I see NO lawn sign support for
    him? Romney is the winner!

Romney is a pathetic excuse of a presidential candidate. Romney in a landslide? Drinking some Fox news koolaid I think. Romney is a disappointment and embarrassment. He can't even keep his lies straight. The GOP leadership continues to give us bad candidates who don't represent us and expect us to blindly follow along. Sorry, not buying the nonsense of a "landslide" just like McCain and the empty-headed dufus Sarah Palin who is an idiot like the guy who ran the economy into the ground, George W Bush. How about some real ideas and some real candidates GOP leadership and not more of the empty suits and hateful ideas about rape, minorities and other Tea Party nonsense you keep parading out?
