Trump: Decision not to charge Clinton marks 'darkest days for the FBI and justice'

After seeing FBI notes regarding its review of Hillary Clinton's private e-mail server, Donald Trump on Friday said it was "inconceivable that the FBI chose not to prosecute" the former secretary of state.

After seeing FBI notes regarding its review of Hillary Clinton's private e-mail server, Donald Trump on Friday said it was "inconceivable that the FBI chose not to prosecute" the former secretary of state.

"It's the darkest days for the FBI and justice in this country," the Republican presidential nominee told The Inquirer in an interview, his first on the topic, after meeting with Philadelphia African-American leaders at a catering hall run by People For People, a nonprofit operated by the Greater Exodus Baptist Church on North Broad Street.

Trump pointed several times to Clinton's statement to the FBI, made public Friday, that she did not know that a "C" on a document was meant to mark it classified.

According to the agency's notes, Clinton told the FBI she thought the letter was for marking paragraphs in alphabetical order.

"I don't think it's believable what she told the FBI when she said she doesn't understand what 'C' is ...," Trump said of his Democratic rival. "Because it's better for her to say that, but who would not understand that? Anybody would understand that. So I don't think it's even believable."

The FBI has declined to prosecute Clinton over questions regarding her use of private email server while Secretary of State, but the issue has dogged her campaign and fueled one of Trump's main line of attacks.

He also questioned why the FBI's interviews were not recorded.

"When they go undercover, they tape-record the mafia - why aren't they tape recording Hillary Clinton?" Trump asked. "Explain that one."
