But in the days since Caleb "Kai" Lawrence McGillvary´s arrest as a fugitive in Philadelphia last Thursday, wanted in North Jersey for the murder of a 73-year-old lawyer, a darker, far more complex picture of a troubled young man has become to emerge. Family members talk of years of behavorial and mental health problems, years in treatment homes and possible abuse. In a now-chilling interview with a California radio station taped in March and posted as a montage piece on YouTube on Tuesday, McGillvary, who has insinuated he was drugged and raped by his alleged victim, states he was raped at 17 and started having fights with people he perceived as bullies. "I realize I´d never let something like that happen to me again," he said. "I´d rather die than let something like that happen to me again."
