A former Pennsylvania Game Commissioner and current Lancaster County township supervisor pleaded guilty to animal cruelty after a humane officer found five dogs living outside in inpleaded guilty ches of feces and mud. The Lancaster Intelligencer Journal reports Stephen L. Mohr, who is a Conroy township supervisor pleaded guilty to two counts of cruelty and paid a $100 for keelping his three German short-haired pointers and two beagles in filth. Despite the plea, the dogs were not removed and he was ordered to keep their cages clean. Mohr has a history of run ins with authorities on animal issues, In 2011 he pleaded guilty to importing wolf-hybrid dogs and selling them without a license.
An Amish man in Lancaster County is facing charges for killing a young bald eagle. Paul Zook was charged with killing an endangered or threatened species after shooting the eagle that he thought was a hawk menacing his chickens. Lancaster Intelligencer Journal has the story.
