So far in the race:
Foster has been running on an anti-corruption, anti-government waste platform. He has also been a leading voice for candidates outside the two establishment parties.
His quick turns of phrase garnered some interest at the first, and only, mayoral debate he was invited to in early October.
He isn't invited to any of the other debates (and is letting everyone know about it), and his arguments on the campaign trail have leaned heavily pessimistic thus far.
Jim Foster has spent a majority of his life in the Mount Airy/Germantown section of Philadelphia. He was born there and lives there now.
He served two years active duty in the Marine Corps from 1962 to 1963, and served another four years in the Marine Reserves. He has owned and operated the Germantown Chronicle for nearly a decade, having started it with his wife, who passed away two years ago.
Foster has served on numerous local planning and policy boards, and has run unsuccessfully for elected office in the past, including a challenge to Rep. Chaka Fattah in 2012.
