Jim Kenney will be sworn in as Philadelphia's 99th mayor Monday morning, kicking off a full day of inaugural activities.

Common Pleas Court Judge Kevin M. Dougherty, who will be sworn in as a Pennsylvania Supreme Court justice the following day, will administer the oath of office to Kenney at 10 a.m. at the Academy of Music. Afterward, Kenney will walk down Broad Street to City Hall, shaking hands with people along the route.

Beginning at 2 p.m., Kenney will attend receptions in City Council offices. At 3:15, he will sign his first executive orders in the Mayor's Reception Room.

He is then scheduled to attend a $5,000-a-person reception for the Fund for the School District of Philadelphia at 5 p.m. at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Kenney's Inaugural Block Party begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Convention Center; the invitation-only event is for his supporters, campaign volunteers, and contributors to the school fund.

Unlike inaugurations past, it's not a black-tie event.

"It's come as you are," Kenney spokeswoman Lauren Hitt said. She said students from the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts will provide the music.
