* Mayor Nutter, explaining why he's a black elected official for Clinton: "There are no automatics in life that all black people are going to support a single black candidate in a race. All black folks don't eat fried chicken or eat watermelon. When do we make some progress here?"
* Laborers union chief Sam Staten, Jr., at an endorsement news conference of Obama supporters: "It's not about politics, per se, and the Clintons, and who can do the better job. It's just his turn. It's our turn - to get the job done."
