Fire and water

Dem passion, GOP thirst

Fire and water

President Barack Obama delivers his State of the Union address on (AP)

President Obama seasoned his 6,500-word State of the Union address/laundry list of federal stimuli with oratory that sometimes soared. His "they deserve a vote" riffery on behalf of Newtown massacre and other gun violence victims was moving and memorable.

But Republican reactions were forgettable and oddly...parched.

Sweaty, would-be GOP savior Marco Rubio's penchant for thirst-quenching during his SOTU response?

And that Republican hack who brought a dried-up rocker and firearms fetishist as his date?

Bad, bad optics.

But the evening's un-congeniality prize surely goes to House Speaker John Boehner, whose tone-deaf sitdown during the standing ovation for venerable voter Desiline Victor was worthy of Chris Brown.

    Marching orders for the Liberal media across the country arrived this morning;

    1. Do not mention the humingous debt Obama ignores.
    2. Obsess on Marco Rubio taking a drink of water.
    3. Continue to worship the worst president ever as unemployment, health costs, gas prices sky rocket.

Thank you, The Liberal Media CEO

Boehner just seemed out of it last night - totally disengaged, gazing off, looking like he was hungover. And THIS is the defacto leader of the party opposite? He couldn't even stand up to applaud a 102-year-old woman who waited hours in line to vote?

Next, we were treated to Marco Rubio and his poor man's televangelist routine. He kept touching his face, neck, temple, licking his lips, wiping sweat from his face and finally bending over off-camera to take a chug of agua during the most important speech of his life. What was up with that? I laughed out loud in utter amazement. Not ready for Prime time, this Rubio character. Not to mention, he never articulated an alternate vision for America; he was basically complaining about the President and pedaling more of the same old, tired nonsense we've tried for the last 30 years. Yawn. I suppose Rand Paul had the better response to Obama because nobody saw it. Conservatives must be feeling despondent this morning.

Rubio's done. Bring on the next GOP savior. This Party is in SERIOUS trouble.

Wok..you need to have your head examined. There were so many lies from president, I had a hard time keeping count. For you to bring up Rubio shows that you are worried. Marco is a very smart guy. He understands what needs to be done. Something your savior has zero concept of.

Obama continues to fake his way through the job and this country gets dangerously more divided, in debt, uncompetitive & weak with each passing minute. Barack Obama is a presidential disaster of truly "historic" proportions (Jimmy Carter points & laughs at this point). It is absolutely AMAZING that we still have citizens in this country who are still so uninformed & ignorant to reality that they continue to believe Barack Obama knows what he is doing. This clown continues to totally fake his way through the job, has the leadership qualities of a 19th century caboose and his mere presence is causing our country to stagnate at a level never seen before in American history. The Fraud in Chief continues his damage from the pulpit and his blind, uninformed flock continue to worship at his complete lack of results. Be scared America, be very, very scared....

Keep the Change...That is because Wok is a Demo lackey. He tots the company line on this site. He has no real answers to the policies of this president. He just goes along & defends with them like a good little soldier. He still hasn't answered my question. What he or she does for a living. My feeling is that he or she is a Democrat troll or some other sycophant. He or she couldn't be a small business owner. Otherwise, he or she would be out of business with that demented political philosophy.

Good to know I get under your skin. You don't deserve an answer nor will you get one. This will be the last time I respond to you, you miserable cretin. Feel free - from this point on, to wonder what I do for a living. And enjoy your time in perpetual minority status as a Republican.

Respond by name calling...Isn't that cute. It just shows your intellectual limitations. Also, it shows just how much of a fraud you really are. I will continue to ask you the same question over and over. I know I won't get an answer. Chances are your a deadbeat. Feel free to refute my claims... We all know exactly what you are.

By the way, I will gladly enjoy my time as a Republican. Just you enjoy your time in the unemployment line. You'll be hearing from me soon, chuckles.

I think Wok can be as looney as the conservatives on here, but I Googled some of the sentences and couldn't find any exact matches. It might have helped to post the link.

Why do people argue which party is better when they both suck. Hey Philly how are the democratic treating you? Hey republicans how well did Pres. Bush do? See governemnt is a leech on the average citizen it gets money from those who control to take away from the average.

@Lou - First of all, thanks for pointing out how 'keep the change' conjured up a false accusation.

Secondly, I'm not a Democrat as much as I'm an anti-Republican. Give me a viable 3rd Party and I would take a serious look. Christie maybe?

Truthful, informative, honest. Oh, not Obama's speech, but the ingredient listing on a box of saltines. Quit supporting the hacks (Ds and Rs) that have destroyed out economy. The writer of this blog is a lemming at the front of the line. The cliff is in sight.
