Rapper's track lays down case for City Council candidate Ori Feibush

First, Philadelphia City Councilman Curtis Jones Jr. entered his reelection kickoff party to a remix with this unforgettable hook: "Curtis. Jones. Junior, junior, junior."

Now, a South Philly rapper has made a track in support of City Council candidate Ori Feibush.

(Is this a trend? We can only hope.)

Feibush's song, titled "215 Rebirth (Vote for Ori)," was released Thursday by Zaa Geez, whom the candidate on Twitter called a "super supporter" of his campaign.

The rap doesn't mention Feibush's opponent in the contentious Second District race, incumbent Kenyatta Johnson. But Zaa Geez does predict that Feibush, a real estate developer who he thinks is "on point like Point Breeze" will be victorious.

"Ori Feibush, he's a champion," he raps. "Bout to have Philly winning. Like Jordan and Scottie Pippen. The ball in his court now he's dribblin'. Every time he take a shot he not missin'."

Those in Johnson's camp said they were not planning to drop a track of their own.

"We have no intention of turning this into a rap showdown," said spokesman Mark Nevins. "As fascinating as that would be."

Feibush doesn't make an appearance. On Twitter, he said he "would have loved to" but didn't know about the song until its release.

Zaa Geez, how about a remix?
