MEDIA The Delaware County Council announced Monday that it had filled the seat left vacant when Chairman Tom McGarrigle was elected to the state Senate.

Michael Culp, a Republican from Springfield Township, will complete McGarrigle's term.

Culp, a lawyer, has served as a Springfield Township commissioner for three years. He is a member of the Delaware County Chester City Revitalization and Improvement Authority, and served on the county's Housing Authority.

Mario Civera Jr., a former state legislator in his second four-year term, was elected as chairman, and Colleen P. Morrone, who was elected to council in 2011, as vice chairman of the council to complete the reorganization. - Mari A. Schaefer
