An AWB won't stop criminals from committing crimes. Doesn't work for murder, the drug war, and didn't work for Prohibition. All you end up with is unarmed victims; the criminals will be as armed as ever.— DeltaV - Well thats the thing YOU can't seperate.
The criminal that uses a handgun to rob a store/carjack someone/shoot a rival gang member etc,etc!
Compared to someone with a mental disorder that takes out a movie theater or school thru mass killings.
Those are 2 seperate things, so trying to eliminate assault type weapons and large clips to avoid mass killings is the main concern.
You don't see the normal criminal using assault type weapon to rob a store.
I grew up around guns never hunted but target shooting every other weekend.
I respect your right to own but it has to start somewhere to get these weapons out of the hands of those that don't respect the weapon.
I think its Australia but they eliminated same weapons but everyone has access at the shooting range to use them, can't own them but available for those that wish to shoot them.
