A person was fatally struck by an Amtrak Acela train Thursday afternoon in Delaware County, officials said.
About 4:20 p.m., Acela Train 2163 traveling from Boston to Washington struck the person in Norwood, said Amtrak spokeswoman Christina Leeds. There were 293 passengers on board and no other reported injuries.
SEPTA suspended service on its Wilmington/Newark Regional Rail Line while police investigated for more than two hours, said SEPTA spokesman Andrew Busch. Service was restored about 6 p.m., but passengers were advised of residual delays of up to 30 minutes as service returns to normal.
No further information was available on the victim.
