Redevelopment Authority selects developer for MOVE bombing site

The Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority announced Tuesday that it had selected AJR Endeavors, L.L.C. to develop and restore the blocks leveled in the 1985 MOVE bombing.

AJR Endeavors, a newly created company headed by Anthony Fullard, James Robertson, and Rodney Ross, was selected through the "request for proposal" process. The redevelopment authority declined to provide the plan submitted by AJR. It also declined to name the other developer who submitted a proposal.

AJR will redevelop 36 rowhomes for private ownership on the 6200 blocks of Osage Avenue and Pine Street in the Cobbs Creek section of West Philadelphia. Construction is expected to start later this year and will take 18 to 24 months to complete. The total cost of the project is $3.2 million, the authority said. The developers will be required to contribute 1 percent of the project's cost to a public work of art.

The project still needs approval from the redevelopment authority board and City Council, authority spokeswoman Jamila Davis said.
