Body found in East Norriton may be missing local woman

A body found in a wooded area in East Norriton Sunday is believed to be that of a local woman missing since late February, Upper Merion Township police said.It was found about 2:15 p.m. near Taft Road, police said, during a search for Heather Tillette, 37, an Upper Merion woman last seen leaving Einstein Medical Center Feb. 26.

Over the course of the investigation into her disappearance, Upper Merion police learned she may have been spotted in East Norriton and asked police there to join the investigation.

A search-and-rescue team conducted two searches in the area. The body was found on the second search on Sunday.

The Montgomery County coroner's office has not yet positively identified the body, but police said they had notified Tillette's family "based on the location of the body, clothing and other items at the scene."

A cause of death has not yet been released.
