Man with bodies in backyard convicted of robbery

STROUDSBURG, Pa. - A Northeastern Pennsylvania man whose property had as many as 12 bodies buried on it has been convicted of a home-invasion robbery.

A Monroe County jury yesterday convicted Hugo Selenski, 35, of all charges he faced for the January 2003 robbery of Monroe County jeweler Sam Goosay at his home, which included kidnapping, robbery, criminal conspiracy, theft and false imprisonment. He could be sentenced to up to 153 years in prison.

Selenski has been acquitted of murder in the deaths of two of the people buried on his property in Kingston Township, Luzerne County, but convicted of abuse of a corpse.

He is awaiting trial in the deaths of two others. Selenski's lawyer said he planned to appeal. - AP
