Motorcycle crashes kill 4 in Pa. at start of holiday weekend

HARRISBURG - Four fatal motorcycle crashes in Pennsylvania marred the opening of the three-day holiday weekend, police said. The crashes killed two people in Dauphin County and two in Lebanon County between Thursday night and Friday evening.

Earlier last week in York County, a man and a woman died after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a sport utility vehicle. Neither was wearing a helmet, according to the coroner's office.

Over the July Fourth weekend last year, state police investigated 15 traffic deaths in Pennsylvania. - AP
