Man, woman critically hurt in Frankford shooting

A man and a woman were critically wounded early yesterday in a shooting in Frankford, police said.

Officers who responded to reports of gunshots at the 1600 block of Brill Street at 12:08 a.m. found a 45-year-old man with several gunshot wounds to his chest and neck, and a 23-year-old woman who had been shot in her left arm, the chest and buttocks.

The man was taken to Temple University Hospital and the woman to Aria Health's Torresdale campus. Both were reported in critical condition. Neither has been named by police.

The two shooters fled east on Brill toward Darrah Street, police said. The investigation continues. - Matthew Spolar
