Allegheny bans antigay bias

PITTSBURGH - Twenty years after its county seat of Pittsburgh passed a similar law, Allegheny County is banning discrimination in employment and housing based on sexual orientation.

The County Council passed the bill, 8-6, last night.

County Executive Dan Onorato said he would sign it.

The bill contains an exemption for fraternal, religious, charitable, and sectarian organizations.
