The FBI yesterday announced the arrest - in Egypt - of a man wanted in a double homicide committed last year in a war between North Philadelphia drug gangs. Kyree Slocum, 35, formerly of North Philadelphia, was taken into custody May 29 in Cairo.
He is charged with shooting three men inside a rowhouse in the 2300 block of North Marshall Street on the evening of Oct. 23. Barry Johnson, 33, was shot in the head and died at the scene. Rubin Rasheen Eason, 28, was shot in the head and died at Temple University Hospital at 9:41 p.m. Johnson's brother Christopher, 21, was shot in the back but survived.
The shootings involved the Mutter Street Boys, a drug network that claimed the intersection of Mutter and Indiana Avenue.
FBI agents traveled from Philadelphia to Cairo to bring Slocum back. The FBI did not immediately disclose how Slocum had ended up in Egypt or how he had been tracked down. - Staff and wire reports
