Divers recover body from Lake Nockamixon

Divers yesterday recovered the body of a missing fisherman from Lake Nockamixon in Bucks County, state police said.

The body of Ivan S. Khemiy, 23, was found about 12:30 p.m. about 100 feet off shore. Khemiy, who is from Ukraine, was in this country on a work visa and living in Philadelphia, according to Bucks County Coroner Joseph Campbell. Khemiy was married. His wife is still in Ukraine.

Campbell said an autospy was scheduled for today.

Khemiy was reported missing by a roommate on Thursday when he failed to return from a fishing trip to Nockamixon State Park.

The man's swamped boat was found Saturday afternoon near the Haycock boat launch at the northern end of the park, off Route 563 just north of Top Rock Trail. - Christopher K. Hepp
