Body of woman pulled from river at Penn's Landing

A police marine unit pulled the body of an unidentified woman yesterday from the Delaware River at Penn's Landing. The body was found floating adjacent to the Hyatt Regency hotel at 201 S. Columbus Blvd., officials said. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:10 p.m., police said. It was not immediately known how long the woman had been in the water.

The woman, described as white and in her 50s, did not match the description of any missing person being sought by Philadelphia police. An investigation began last night to identify the woman.
