Chester man sentenced to life in federal drug case

A Delaware County man was sentenced to life in prison yesterday in a federal drug trafficking case, according to the Delaware County District Attorney's Office.

Tyrone "Saleem" Trader, 41, of Chester, was arrested in October 2004, accused of conspiring to distribute cocaine in the Toby Farms neighborhood of Chester, directly across from an elementary school.

During the investigation, which involved wiretaps and undercover surveillance, authorities seized two 700 series BMW automobiles, $1.78 million in cash, and guns, according to the District Attorney's Office. - Mari A. Schaefer
