Willingboro man wounded in shopping center lot

A Willingboro man is in critical condition after being shot multiple times Monday night while he was parked in a shopping center, authorities said.

Deion Madison, 28, was hit in the abdomen, elbow and upper leg, according to Joel Bewley, a spokesman for the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.

Madison had been sitting in the driver's seat of a car that was in the parking lot of a shopping center on Charleston Road in Willingboro when he was shot about 6:30 p.m.

The shooter, who has not been found, ran for a short distance before he was picked up by a car that was headed north on Route 130, Bewley said.

Madison was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

Authorities did not comment on a possible motive for the shooting, and they have not released a description of the shooter. Anyone with information is asked to call the Willingboro Police Department's tip line at (609) 877-6958.
