Body stuffed inside trash bag found in Germantown

A decomposing body that was wrapped in a comforter, duct-taped and stuffed inside a trash bag was found by Philadelphia police around 6 p.m. Saturday in the 2800 block of Germantown Avenue.

Detectives said yesterday that they had not yet declared the case a homicide. They also said that they could not release any other information about the body, pending an autopsy. They had been called to the scene by a person who saw the bag in a vacant lot in the Germantown section of the city.
