One of the country's oldest log cabins, built in Gloucester County in 1638, is for sale.

Nothnagle Cabin, located in Gibbstown, is on the National Register of Historic Places, NJ.com reported.

The home, which sits on 1.3 acres, includes a garden and a 16-foot deep well. It offers Finnish-style woodworking, and shelves with artifacts that were found in the home, including a 300-year-old pair of shoes. An addition added to the original 16-by-22-foot cabin makes the home livable, the news outlet reported.

The three-bedroom, 1,800-square-foot home boasts 100-foot redwood trees, a gazebo, shed, machine shop, and a four-car garage, according to the real estate listing.

The asking price is $2.9 million.

There is a catch: The current owners, Harry and Doris Rink, want to stay.

“We want to finish out our days here,” Doris Rink told NJ.com. “We want to live here until we die because this is our home and we love it.”

The couple wants to see the cabin in the hands of someone capable of caring for the historic structure.

And there are the tours.

The couple has opened the home to thousands of drop-in guests, including ambassadors, consulate generals, congressmen, governors, authors, professors, archaeologists, historians, and even a group of Austrian tourists who stopped in at 2 a.m. The couple would like the new owners to continue the free tours.

“It’s important to keep and share the history,” Harry Rink told the site.
