5 school buses in Burlco accident leave 24 with minor injuries

A chain-reaction accident involving five school buses caused minor injuries for 23 children and one adult Monday afternoon in Burlington County, police said.

The buses were taking children home from a summer day camp when they crashed into each other shortly after 4 p.m. on Tuckerton Road west of Lenape Trail in Medford Lakes, police said.

The injured passengers were transported to area hospitals for treatment while 67 other children and 10 adult staffers were taken back to JCC Camps at Medford to be reunited with their families.

The Medford Township Traffic Safety Unit was investigating the cause of the accident.
