Sporting an Eagles baseball cap (Boston College Eagles, that is), Bruce Springsteen set off a little social media storm Thursday when he was spotted by fans on the Wildwood Boardwalk.

The New Jersey native, who has been known to frequent his old haunts in Asbury Park, was spotted by several fans and posed for pictures in the Cape May County resort known for its "Do-Wop" architecture, ShoreNewsToday reported.

One fan posted an account on the Boardwalk blog about his search for the Boss after hearing he was in town.

"I know he ate at The Olympic Flame Restaurant on the Wildwood boardwalk and was on the boards for 2 hrs. That's how I meet Bruce Springsteen in Wildwood, NJ.," the fan said.

One fan lamented she did not catch a glimpse of the rocker.

As to why he was wearing a Boston College Eagles hat and not a Philadelphia one, the answer would appear to be that one of his sons, Evan, is a graduate of the Jesuit school. There is nothing to indicate, that while he has expressed his love for Philadelphia, the Boss is a fan of the Eagles that play at The Linc.
